RE: Milan loses chance to close on the leaders while Sevilla progress to the Championship League Group Stage

Milan lost a golden chance to close up on Serie A pace makers Juventus and Roma yesterday after a 1-1 draw against Fiorentina in the San Siro. After taking an early lead through Kaka in the 27th min, Milan found itself outplayed in the second half and Adrian Mutu headed in a 56th min equalizer for Fiorentina. Zdravko Kuzamnovic also claimed all three points for the visitor after his shot hit against the post at the end.

After the match, Carlo Ancelotti, Milan's coach, was disappointed, but not angry with his team's display.

Current Standings Serie A (top 5)
Juventus 6pts
Roma 6pts
Milan 4pts
Fiorentina 4pts
Inter-Milan 4pts

As for Sevilla, as the article below shows. They won their postponed match with AEK Athens to book their place in the Championship Group Stage where they would meet Arsenal, Steaua Bucharest and Slavia Prague. This match was postponed due to the unfortunate death of Sevilla's player Antonio Puerta
